Where have I heard the beautiful song?

Where have I heard the beautiful song of voices across the ages?
    Who can pinpoint its source?
Have the voices now been silenced under a watery grave?

    A new start

As Christians, one of the things we hold very dear is the idea of hope. We live in the knowledge that there is better to come ... as the Apostle Paul said to those in Corinth, if what we hope for is only what we can gain in this life then our hope is certainly in vain.

    The woman at the well

5 So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

    We stand on holy ground

4 When the Lord saw that Moses was coming closer, he called to him from the middle of the bush and said, “Moses! Moses!”

He answered, “Yes, here I am.”

5 God said, “Do not come any closer. Take off your sandals, because you are standing on holy ground. Exodus 3:4-5

    Finding another way

“He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee.”
    Matthew 28:6-7

There is a man who sells his wares in Dewsbury Market in Yorkshire, he approached me one morning, “surprised” he said to see me walking in that part of the town. Only because as he explained, he had never seen a minister here before. We had an interesting discussion, but his interest seemed to turn to contempt.
